Welcome to the bloggy bit :-)

Thanks for delving this far into Drawn Wild. This will be the section where I will post stuff and talk about things...the usual way a blog works I guess (having never done one, i'll work it out as I go along). I'll try not to make it too boring and hopefully will attempt to keep it somewhat up to date

On Tuesday January 27th I will be holding a Graphite Drawing Class at the Drummoyne Sailing Club from 10.30am - 4pm (possibly until 4.30) and there are a couple of places left.
The cost for the day is $50 per head.

If interested in attending, please message me and I'll give you details on what to bring.

Graphite Powder
I will also have paper stumps and Tombow Mono Zero erasers for sale if needed.

Drawing Master Class - Maybe..

Initial EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST are being taken for a one day drawing master-class, to be held in Sydney in October.

(Place and time to be decided depending upon interest in the class. If numbers allow, I may be able to have one day for beginners and one for more advanced.)

Just finished this one.

'Another Brick in the Wall' (Owl in owl I'm just ....)
A3 on Luste 300gsm paper. Graphite - Derwent Onyx Dark only plus Tombow Zero, Tuff Stuff and Papermate E-Racer erasers and Blue-Tack.

This one was a lot of fun. I've never done bricks before.🙂

Graphite painting of an owl in a hole in the wall

Finished a whimsy!

'Arabesque' A4 Graphite (Derwent Onxy Dark) and Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils.

This is NOT the final photo. The lighting on the boat this afternoon was dull and grey and I couldn't get a decent photo at all but this gives a general idea.
I'll try and get a better one tomorrow morning.

Docklands was awesome but yeah, I'm an idiot!

We tied up on a dock right in the centre of Melbourne a short walk away from the studio! I was stunned as it cost me nothing to hire the room to do the course and the people who came along were just fantastic. I supplied snackage in the form of a platter and bickies and a fun, relaxing and productive day was had by all.

Unfortunately I am an idiot and forgot to take my camera with me to the lesson and only remembered when I got back to the boat so... no pictures. D"OH!!

Just to prove we were there, here we go..  At least we got a picture of the house :-)

Docklands training anyone?

I'm thinking of trying to arrange a 1-2 day course in Melbourne in the coming weeks and am looking for expressions of interest.

I would need a minimum of 10 people to make it viable. If possible I may try and arrange 2 courses..... 1 for less experienced/beginners and one for the more experienced. As I said, it depends on interest. 🙂

Finished "Hogan". Such a patient client!

I received the most wonderful testimonial today from a very lovely and exceptionally patient client. Thank you so very, very much. You made it all worthwhile. 😃

"When we lost our dear friend Hogan due to his illness, we immediately wanted to commemorate his memory with a portrait that would hang in an honored location in our home. We searched around our local area in Minnesota, and eventually extended our search worldwide in the hopes of finding an artist that could recapture the heart and soul of our Hogan. We had a further challenge to deal with, and that was due to the fact that we had no perfect picture of our pooch, only a series of mediocre pictures that collectively captured his personality.

We eventually found Terry online and sent her a large number of photos and she was gracious enough to create a composite image and an approach that we knew was exactly how we wanted to remember our best friend. She began work immediately and sent us periodic updates on our commission that were both tantalizing and eagerly awaited.

In the end, we received a package one day at our home in Minnesota that had traveled halfway around the world (in perfect condition). When I opened the package I was absolutely stunned, as the online updates certainly did not do justice to the original artwork we received. Terry not only created a masterpiece that will be treasured forever in my family, she also captured the personality of my lost friend Hogan and brought him back for me one more time. It brought tears to me eyes and now hangs in an honored place in my living room. I cannot thank Terry enough for the wonderful gift she provided my whole family!

Terry is a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone who wishes to commission her for an artwork.

A commission I completed. Such a lovely testimonial!

Yoga frog?

This is this afternoon's effort, "Yoga Frog" The photo is dreadful as I haven't yet found a place on the boat with good lighting for taking pics.
This is A5 (I'm doing a few smaller ones for the festival as they may sell easier)
